Printer default settings not respected
Hi,____I have problem with the printer default settings. It seems that the report writer doesn_t respect the default printer settings specified by the user.____This printer has different paper bacs. The user configured the local printer settings to use bac 1 by default.__Our application that use RRW is installed on Windows 2012. The user work on a RDP session and his printer is loaded by windows printer redirection service in his session.____When he prints from Word in his session, the bac 1 is used by default like it_s defined on his local printer settings. When he prints from RRW, he must change de properties from the printer and selected bac 1. ____The default printer settings are not respected in the RRW printer dialog box. The stings are not saved. He must do this for every printing.____We use RRW version 12.5.1.____Any suggestions?__Best regards

The printer that you used when you saved the report is the printer that will be used. If that printer is not present, than it will use the default printer.____I use an xbase system and use the rrwrunin.dbf file for all my controls, including printer selection. If you replace the ri_printer with " " and the ri_wptr with "?", the printer dialog box will appear allowing the user to select his or her printer of choice.__________

I do that same with the cmd files. The ri_printer= and ri_wptr=?.____The problem is not the printer but the properties of the printer. In the RRW printer dialog box is a button to display the properties box of the selected printer. Normally the properties are set by the user on his local printer but can be changed before printing. If a printer has more than on paper bac, it_s possible to define that the printer has always to print form paper bac 2 (as example). When the user print from RRW, he has nothing else to do than to select the printer and click OK.____But in Rrw the properties are always set to the default properties. Normally the printing must use the paper from bac 2 but he set the default properties that is on _Auto_. RRW ignore the settings set by the user for his printer. The user must open the printer properties box from the RRW print dialogue box and select bac 2 before printing. __
