Hi Guys____I am a newbie here and below is the report that I am currently trying to comeup with.__For the sake of explanation I have divided the report into two parts : Data section and Summary section.__Data section I am sure I know how to do it. But my biggest fear is the Summary section. How do I come with with that using R&R? __Even a pointer from you experts in the right direction would be of immense help.__Thanks in advance____======================================================================__<Data section>__Dept:D001___EMPL:001 data data data___EMPL:002 data data data___EMPL:003 data data data______Dept Total Total1 Total2 Total3_____Dept:D002___EMPL:004 data data data___EMPL:005 data data data___EMPL:006 data data data______Dept Total Total4 Total5 Total6_____Dept:D003___EMPL:007 data data data___EMPL:008 data data data___EMPL:009 data data data______Dept Total Total7 Total8 Total9_____---------------------------------------------------------------__<Summary section>____Dept:D001 Total1 Total2 Total3__Dept:D002 Total4 Total5 Total6__Dept:D003 Total7 Total8 Total9__================================================================________Regards____Suhaib

You need to create a set of conditional grand totals where the condition would be DEPT=^001^ for the Dept 001 totals and so on.____Kathleen__R&R Support

Kathleen, ____I agree. But I have a unique situation here. The example for that is:______ Dept Hours__Emp1 2 4__ 3 1 __ 5 2____Emp2 1 6__ 3 5 __ 4 7____Emp3 3 1__ 4 2__ __Emp4 1 4 __ 2 1__ 4 3____The above is the detail, which I can manage____The summary is what I am unable to do____It goes like:____Dept Hours__1 10__2 5__3 7__4 12__5 2______Would appreciate if you could let me know how I could do this.____

Hi Kathleen____I quite understood your point.__BUT, your solution would work only when I know before hand what the DEPT values would be. Am I right ? __What if I dont know the values for DEPT, and how many they are ?____Thanks in advance____Suhaib

For this method you would indeed to need to know.____One way around this would be to create a second report that just as the group totals and format it to look like a summary page.__Then print this second report immediately after the first report.____Kathleen__R&R Support

R&R does not have sub-reports.____Kathleen__R&R Support
