Printing report knocks printer offline.

One of our customers is using an NT4 workstation as a print server. They have installed HP management software on the workstation and their printer is a HP 2100 laserjet hooked up on a parallel connection. Whenever they send an R&R report to the printer, the printer goes offline. If they manually press the button on the printer to turn it back online, the report prints. The printer does not go offline at the conclusion of the report, only the beginning. They have also experienced the same behavior on a HP 2200 laserjet. The application generating the report is written in Visual FoxPro 6 SP5. The version of R&R is 8.0 build 923. FoxPro reports generated by the application do not have this problem nor do any other applications. All executable files and dlls distributed with our application are also version 923. Any help would be appreciated.

Try using a different printer driver (such as an HP6) and see if that works correctly.____Kathleen__R&R Support

If that doesn^t work try using a generic Windows driver for your printer. It is well known that HP manufactured dtrivers can cause strange conflicts with VFP.____Eddie Marshall____

We use VFP6 and used 6.5,8.0, 8.1 and now 9 and have never had such a problem. We also have thousands of users with all kinds of networks and versions of windows with no major HP print problems. We^re currently printing on HP2000C,HP4 and HP4050 (over the network), HP1220C (parallel port). We^re printing from Win98, 2000, and ME.____We call RRWRUN with a run command.____For what its worth, hope this helps.____Pat__
