Queries Involving Running Totals

Post by Bob_F » Tue Nov 12, 2002 6:48 pm

I recently installed version 10. Chapter 12 of the Help file describes a method of using Running Totals in a query as long as there are not pre-processed Totals defined.____I tried this on a table with no other calculated fields defined. When I try to select the calculated running total field in the query I can^t find the field.____Does anyone else have this problem? I^d hate to have to spend $100 per hour on a tech support call.____Bob__

What are you trying to accomplish with the running total query?__Can you get there alternatively by adding a logical condition to a band line?____Kathleen__R&R Support

Thanks for the reply Kathleen.____I^m trying to select the next "x" number of records that meet certain criteria. I just tried your suggestion of using the band format and it worked.____However, I^m still concerned that the help file so clearly indicated that this can be done with a query.____Bob
