Query on pre-processed total: RP5 vs RRW

Post by LGM » Tue Jun 03, 2014 2:50 pm

Hello,____I am in the process of converting all my reports from RP5 to RRW.__I have come across a troubling issue.____Reports with a query on a pre-processed total take approximately 40 times (40x) longer to run when using RRW files.____Has anyone else come across this issue and is there a fix?____Thanks,__LGM

I believe that we resolved this interactively with you. If not, it should be the same issue:____There^s a strange situation where the RepName() function, IF PART OF ANOTHER CALCULATED FIELD (like a page footer) will cause processing to slow down significantly during report generation on a large result-set with pre-processed totals displaying on a page.____The solution is to change the calculated field to not have the RepName() function embedded and put the report name as its own field on the layout.
