All,____I^m calling R&R 6.5.08 from an app using a control table. I have a user that gets the message "R&R cannot display dialog box, check available memory" whenever the user tries to run a report. If she selects to preview the preview window is shown but she gets the message when she tries to print. If she selects not to preview she gets the message right away. ____I could not find a reference to this error in the documentation. Can anyone tell me what the problem is or why R&R is even trying to display a dialog? ____The customer is using Win95. No other programs appear to be active.____Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.____Thanks,__Randal Ferguson__

Does this happen with all reports or just one report?__What printer was saved with the report? Try selecting a different printer, save the report and then have the user try it again.____You could also try setting RI_WPTR to a ? in your control file and see what happens.______Kathleen__R&R Support

Kathleen,____>Does this happen with all reports or just one report? __>What printer was saved with the report? Try selecting a __>different printer, save the report and then have the user __>try it again. ____Yes, it happens with all reports. The user is in another state and there are several hundred reports. If I have to do this I^d like to do it as a last resort.____>__>You could also try setting RI_WPTR to a ? in your control __>file and see what happens. __>____Again, this is a little difficult because it is a compiled program and the customer is in another state. Under what circumstances would they be getting this error? What does it mean? They are using an HP820cse printer.____Thanks,__Randal Ferguson______

The error sounds like a memory problem probably related to the printer driver. Can we try the problem the other way around and have you install the same driver as your user (even if you don^t really have that printer) and see if you too see the same thing?______Kathleen__R&R Support
