R&R SQL 8.1 and Arpeggio

Post by Anne_Phillips » Wed Feb 14, 2001 11:23 pm

LAST EDITED ON Feb-14-01 AT 11:26 PM (EST)[p]We having problems with runtime of Arpeggio on an NT network using Microsoft SQL 7. This is a 10 user network and the client says that it causes machines to crash.__On frequent tests, we found that whenever a user requests a report, viewer grabs hold of all available resources and affects every application running on the machine.__One consequence of this situation is that some times connection between the user and server terminates because user_s machine is unable to do any processing.__As a result locks obtained at the server for reports are not released.__This creates further problems as more users try to access the system.__ ____Does anyone have experience of this. Also we do have R&R SQL 8.1 runtime but I do not want to send it to the client until I^m assured that this will sort out their problems.

We often have this problem with Arpeggio, causing the quering PC to crash. We use Oracle^s ODBC driver. Consequently, locks obtained at the server for reports are not released and the process keeps running.
