R&R runtime very slow

All,____Several of our users have reported very slow response time in a network environment using R&R 8.1 runtime. R&R works fine from the main computer (or where the runtime files are installed) but from any of the workstations it is painfully slow. Sometimes taking a minute or more before the preview is displayed. We are passing a control file to the runtime specifying the printer name, etc.____I suspect that R&R is looking for the printer that is saved with the report. When the user selects a report from our app we pass the printer name via the control file parameter RI_WPTR=. Is there anything we can do to speed this up? We are not installing an rrw.ini file on any of the computers.____Thanks,__Randal

Back in 8.1 even if you pass a name in RI_WPTR, R&R would still try to find the saved printer first.____But in the current V11 release, if an RI_WPTR is specified, we will go directly to that printer and will not try to find the saved printer.____Kathleen__R&R Support

Kathleen,____Do you think this is the problem and it will be solved by upgrading to V11?____If so, is the upgrade offer advertised (until July 10) good when upgrading from 8.1? ____Will V11 read .rp5 lib^s?____Is there some documentation on your web site describing the new features for V11?____Thanks,__Randal ____>Back in 8.1 even if you pass a name in RI_WPTR, R&R would __>still try to find the saved printer first. __>__>But in the current V11 release, if an RI_WPTR is specified, __>we will go directly to that printer and will not try to find __>the saved printer. __>__>Kathleen __>R&R Support __
