RL problem in Citrix/Win 2000

Post by Quail » Mon Jul 07, 2003 5:20 pm

I am working in R&R Xbase designer 10+ (I have also tried this in 10) in Citrix on a Windows 2000 box. When I save a file, it saves the changes but does not write to reports.dbf. I do not get an error, R&R simply closes.____When I go back into the report all the changes I made are there but when I check the reports.dbf no changes have occured.

Here is the test I ran today:____I opened up a report. I saved it. It correctly wrote to rptspec.txt and updated the reports.dbf.____I created an instant report. I saved it. It correctly wrote to rptspec.txt and updated the reports.dbf.____I opened up a report that has caused me problems in the past. When I saved it, R&R closed and it did not update reports.dbf. It also did not create rptspec.txt properly. This is what was there:____ R&R Report Writer for Windows - Xbase Edition__ Version: 10+ Build: 10.1.001__ Windows NT 5.0__ Service Pack 3__ Date: 07/08/2003 Time: 10:59____ Serial Number: 2G092F6291__ Report Name: __ G:R&R Report WriterREPORTSClaimsAuto Claims-Auto Claim__ Verification Report.RRW__ Date: 07/08/2003 Time: 10:59:54__ Edit calculated field CrossRef to show the TPA claim number.__ Report Version: 8.01______ FORMAT INFORMATION____ Print Options____After saving this file I was no longer able to write to reports.dbf. I tried the first two files I had used for my test. They still wrote rptspec.txt correctly but did not write to reports.dbf.____I tried creating another instant report and had the same problems as the 0-Auto Claim Verification Report.RRW

I am also getting an error on some reports that "rlcat.exe" does not exist.

I had a similar problem with V9. It had to do with the printer driver. As I remember it, the printer saved with the report was not available on the system. I could be wrong, but try changing the printer driver to one available or to another driver and see if the problem goes away.____-Pat-

Pat - ____Thank you so much! That was definitely the problem. I changed the printer and it saves beautifully now. I think the problem was I was using Citrix so I needed to save it with a local printer instead of the ones that we automatically generate.____Quail
