RR 9.0 Report linking question

I have 3 tables on a Statement report and want to link a 4th.__The Master Table is a Customer File__The Related tables are an invoice header file and msg file____The fourth table contains the invoice transactions for the invoice header file that prints on the statement.____The Invoice Transaction file links to the 4th file by invoice number but none of the indexes match each other so I cannot setup a ^proper^ link for scanning. I tried to create a rrx index but it failed to work as well. ____I guess I am looking for examples on how to setup a link between secondary files that have no matching indexes so I can print some additional information on my statements. Or an example on how to create report index between two files so I can add the detail I need.____Thanks in advance.__Adam Smith__Computer Team Inc__Adam@computerteam.com

Did you get an error when you tried the flexlink index or did you simply not see data from the related file?____Kathleen__R&R Support

Are you sure that the data in the linking field matches the flexlink index expression that you built and that the underlying data is indeed the same?____Kathleen__R&R Support

Kathleen,__Below is how I have the FlexLink setup.____Section 1.) Secondary Table - Will call it Header.dbf__ The field being used is Invoice__Section 2.) Secondary Table - Will call it HeaderDetail.dbf__Section 3.) Relation type is Exact. (There will only be 1 record HeaderDetail.dbf to match the record in Header.dbf__Section 4.) FlexLink is checked. The HeaderDetail fields are available for me to pick. I select the one that is the invoice number.__Section 5.) Set to Full__Section 6.) Failure Action - Blank____I save the report and run it. My text on the line shows up but the field I have placed next to it does not.____Adam

Is invoice a numeric or a character field. If character, is its field length the same in both tables?____Kathleen__R&R Support

And you are sure that the data is exactly the same? Possibly one has leading blanks and the other does not or the case of the characters is different?____Kathleen__R&R Support
