On a particular XP PC I am unable to ^see^ the UDF^s from my RR.UDF file. This is version 8.1 (since I need to be able to write to an .RP5 file) and the RR.UDF IS in the r&r program directory.____Is there anything else that controls if R&R will see the rr.udf? __I have tried using the RRWLINK.ini but that didn^t solve it.____I tried loading v10 on the pc and then I COULD access rr.udf, but I need to have v8.1.____Any idea?____-Jeff

Try double click launching RRW.EXE from the V8.1 directory making sure that the RR.UDF that you want is indeed in that directory and see if it helps.____Kathleen__R&R Support

I tried that but same result.____I also created a new UDF in the blank one that is displaying in rr8.1 but can^t find anywhere on the local drive or the network where an rr.udf is being updated.____Is this something that can get corrupted in the installation?____-Jeff

Does the newly created UDF appear in the UDF list? And is it still there if you close and re-open the designer? If so the UDF file has to be either in the program directory or the link directory.____Kathleen__R&R Support

The newly created UDF is in the list (it is the only one) and stays there when I reopen. The modified date on the RR.udf in the v8.1 folder is not updated after I made the change.____However, if I open v10 and see the list of UDF^s there. Then, if I move the rr.udf from the v10 folder to the v8.1 folder, I can^t see the UDF^s in v8.1____I have removed all references to the RRWLINK.ini (that is not something that we normally use, it was just a debugging attempt.)____Thanks,__-Jeff

Kathleen,__Thanks for your time on this. I have found the problem. Briefly, someone had created another "R&R Report Writer 8.1" folder, in addition to the "R&R Report Writer" folder on that same PC. The tools we used for searching and browsing folders only showed one of the folders because of the similarity in names. Soooo, sorry for the run around, but we certainly figured out a mystery on our end.____Regards,__-Jeff
