Reports with no records

We are using a filter to do a runtime selection of records that match certain user selection criteria. A minor problem we find is that, when there are no records that match the criteria, the report is coming up with some anomalies - missing headings, partial headings, a link to a static dbf table doesn^t work. What we would like is to have a nice, simple user friendly message such as "No records were found for the selected date" or some such thing, maybe by using a calculated field and looking for record count = 0. However the calculated field doesn^t work either when there are no records. So all the user sees is this very confusing result with no data and a corrupted looking report template.____Is there any way to produce some sort of user friendly message simply stating that no records match the selection criteria.____thanks__

Thanks, but I can^t find the "Type" tab. __In the band line properties there are options for Logical Field, New Page Line, line height, but no Type tab. Am I looking in the wrong place?__We are using ver. 9 for XBase.

Create a title band with a text field that says No records found that match your criteria and then set the properties of this band line to Print only when no records are found. There is a checkbox on the Type tab that lets you set this for title band lines.____Kathleen__R&R Support

We added this feature in a later release so you would need to upgrade to make it available to you.____Kathleen__R&R Support
