Hello,____I^m trying to create a text file parameter (rss) for a report I made using an Excel database as a master table.____The RSW report runs fine from the SQL Report Designer but I don^t succeed creating a working rss file even if I use to make rrs files when using RR for Xbase.____Please, can someone post a sample text control file for such a report ?

Did you try using the Runtime Shortcut Maker? That is the easiest way to create a control file and shortcut. Minimally you would need the lines RI_REPORT= and RI_PRINTER=____Kathleen__R&R Support

I didn^t think about using the shotcuts maker, but now I did. And I^ve got no more success. Here is the control text file generated :__RI_LIBRARY=__RI_REPORT=C:Program FilesRRVER10SampleQuestionnaire_Poseurs.RSW__RI_PRINTER=__RI_WTITLE=Questionnaire_Poseurs__RI_STATUS=T__RI_WPTR=__RI_INCLUDE=__RI_DISPERR=T____And here is the rswrun.out :__[RSW Runtime output]__RO_ECODE=R__RO_EMSG=Library error (cannot open file) reading report C:Program FilesRRVER10SampleQuestionnaire_Poseurs.RSW__RO_REPORTS=0__RO_PAGES=0__RO_RIRECNO=____When I select the RSW file with R&R Report Shortcut Maker, it saw that my Data Source is "Fichiers Excel" (Excel Files) but nothing appears for this kind of data source in the control text file, and I think it^s where the problem is.____Can you try to replicate the problem with an Excel file ?

Looking into a rapid runner set file, I^ve discovered part of an explanation in this ascii file.____I needed to write a RI_DSOURCE parameter in the RSS file.__This one works :__RI_REPORT=Questionnaire_Poseurs.RSW__RI_DSOURCE=Travaux_xl__RI_PRINTER=__RI_WTITLE=Questionnaire_Poseurs__RI_STATUS=T__RI_QUERY=O__RI_FILTER=YEAR(CTZ_DFIN)=2004.AND.MONTH(CTZ_DFIN)=10__RI_WPTR=__RI_INCLUDE=O__RI_DISPERR=T____But know, I need to find some informations regarding the DSOURCE value as I don^t want to set manually a ODBC entry on each computer running a report.

If RI_DSOURCE is not defined, R&R will use the data source name that is saved with the report.____Kathleen__R&R Support
