SPEC.DBF error

Post by David_Marshall_(Guest) » Mon Aug 11, 2003 4:04 pm

In R&R Report Librarian, I have started receiving the error, "Librarian is currently busy. Try to save the report again in a minute. If still unavailable, someone else has file SPEC.DBF locked in the RL directory".__I^ve checked in the RL directory, and the SPEC.DBF file is not locked, nor is any other file in the directory. I have restarted the server where the application is installed, but the error still comes up when saving. However, the file does get saved properly, but this error keeps coming up and it is getting annoying. Any ideas?

You could disable the librarian entirely and avoid the error.____Kathleen__R&R Support

Do I disable the Librarian feature by adding the line__"LIBRARIAN=OFF" to the DEFAULTS section of RRW.INI?

OK, thanks. Do I need to reboot or restart anything for the change to take affect?

You just need to restart R&R to have it re-read the INI file.____Kathleen__R&R Support

Did not work. What should the values be for the following in rrw.ini:____[Defaults]__ProgDir32=__TemplateDir=

ProgDir32 should be set to the directory where RRW.EXE resides____and LIBRARIAN=OFF should also be in the DEFAULTS section.____Kathleen__R&R Support

I just wanted to report the fix to this problem. In my case I had to turn off the Librarian feature by adding the line "LIBRARIAN=OFF" to the DEFAULTS section of RSW.INI file, not the RRW.INI file. Once I made the change to this INI file, the Librarian feature was turned off and the error went away.____I saw the same resolution in another posting on this message board.__Just thought you^d like to know.__

Sorry to have assumed that you were using the Xbase version rather than asking which version.____Kathleen__R&R Support
