Sorting by group total

Post by reshelman » Tue Jul 10, 2001 5:10 pm

I have a report and I^m trying to sort on a calculated field-A that is the product of a preprocessed group field-B and another calculated field-C. So A = B * C.____Both B and C show up in the drop down field list in the Sort by dialogue, but Field A does not show up there. Why would it not show up if fields B and C show up?____Thanks!

If calc field C uses a database field in its expression you be unable to use it as a sort.____The doc states:__Although you can group on calculated fields whose expressions include both a pre-processed total field and a database field, you cannot select such fields as sort fields. This restriction is a result of the type of processing that produces pre-processed totals. ____Kathleen__R&R Support
