The memory could not be written

Post by Matty » Thu Nov 20, 2003 8:26 am

I am using R&R Version 10+ , Xbase Edition, Report Designer on my laptop which is an IBM ThinkPad T20.____When I set set up a new relation I get rrw.exe Application Error:- The instruction at "0x00466916" referenced memory at "0x00584465". The memory could not be "written".__When I click on OK the program terminates.____I have tested the same on other PC^s and everything works fine, so this error seems specific to my laptop. The capacity of the laptop is 37.2GB with 22.9GB free space and the system I use is MS Windows 2000.____I would be grateful if anyone could give me some advice how to solve this problem.____Thanks,____Matty.

Kathleen, thanks for your prompt reply and I can confirm I have installed the latest service pack and my version 10 has been incremented to 10.1.003____The question I would really like to be answered is what is the error message (quoted in my first email) telling me, I do not understand it.____To give you more information, before the program is terminated it gives me another rrw.exe - Application Error which reads :-____The instruction at "0x6c371351" referenced memory at "0x00000004". The memory could not be "read".____Many thanks,____Matty

The error is really a generic something has gone wrong message rather than anything that would point to a specific cause.__The only way to diagnose is to experiment with making changes to the report that causes the error to see if the problem can be isolated.____Kathleen__R&R Support
