V12 problem with Delphi 5

I am trying to migrate from RRV9 to RRv12 within a Delphi 5 application. I uninstalled V9, installed V12 and then tried to bring up the application in the Delphi 5 developer. I get an error "Error creating form: Unspecified error" and it will not display any of the forms that have an RR Report component on them. I have uninstalled Delphi and all my other add-ins reinstalled them and the problem still exists. If I unistall RRV12 and reinstall V9 the problem goes away and I am able to open the application in Delphi. I would much appreciate any help you can offer.

Thanks for getting back to me.____Yes I can from a new application with the RRV12 ocx component but not from the existing application (it has over 60 RRV9 report components in it). The main form would not even show up in the delphi developer environment. I had to reinstall the old environment, document and remove the V9 components, reinstall the new environment (Delphi, RR, ADS etc) bring up the application and reinstall the 60+ RRV12 components within the app and recompile. The issue may be now mute having done that but it was certainly not a fun or easy migration. I will know better on Monday after some users get back on the system and print their reports etc.__

This continues to be a serious problem for me. I have to retrofit at least two previous versions of this application each containing over 60 RR components. If I try to bring the application up in the Delphi 5 environment with the RRV12 Ocx the forms will not show. I have to uninstall everything, reinstall Delphi and all its addins including RRV9, bring the application up, remove all the RR components, save it back out. Remove and reinstall Delphi etc with RRV12 then bring the app back up and add the 60+ RR objects back in and recompile. This is a many hour process and it just seems there should be a better way. Thanks for any help you can give.

It is sounding like Delphi is remembering the versions of the components that is used. If you can create a new app with the newer V12 component, then there is not a basic incompatibility between RRV12 and Delphi. So you may need to chase this from the Delphi side of things.____Kathleen__R&R Support
