What if no records?

Post by Lynn_Coggshall_(Guest) » Mon Jan 26, 2004 1:33 pm

Hi Kathleen and all,__I know this sounds like a stupid question, but I can^t find the answer. ____My customer would like a screen to come up and say ^No data found^ if there is not data, but I can^t figure out if there is a way in R&R to get this information. My reports print to ^?^, so when there is no data, the screen just blinks and the user is left wondering what happened. I am using 8.0 xbase. Any info would be greatly appreciated. ____Thanx,__Lynn

We create a total field that counts any field in the primary database (we call it "records") .____We then create a conditional line in the summary band that only prints when "records" is false (ie there are no records.) This line says "There are no records that meet your conditions".____Hope this helps.____RHS

Thank you so much for your response. It works great. I knew it would be something simple. Take care.__Lynn__:7
