Which Windows System Folder?

Post by Top_Dev_User » Tue Apr 29, 2014 1:57 pm

[updated:LAST EDITED ON Apr-29-14 AT 01:59 PM (EST)]Figure 7.1 in the manual says that certain files (like MFC42.DLL) are to be placed in the Windows System Folder.____On 32 bit systems there is only one such folder, Windows/System.____On 64 bit systems there are two such folders, Windows/System and Windows/System32.____Which Windows System folder do we use? Same one both 32 and 64 bit systems? "System" on 32 bit and "System32" on Windows 64 bit systems.____Thanks__-O. D.-__

Never mind. Those files are ALREADY in the System32 folder. Must have been installed by Windows or by R&R.____Sorry to have bothered you.____-O. D.-__

Glad you figured it out. Also, don^t forget that SYSWOW64 may contain files as well (oddly, the 32-bit versions)
