Widow/orphan control

I am trying to ensure that a report (R&R 10+) keeps the group header, detail and group footer together and not split across a page break. I have checked the Format - Record Layout option and the Break record option is NOT ticked. Thus I would expect the report to keep the record sets together. This in not the case and I get the start of a group on one page and the remainder on the next page. My detail lines are, on average 4-6 lines and my group header and footers are only two line each.____Any ideas to correct this issue?____Thanks in anticipation____Bruce__

R&R^s built in widow/orphan control only assures that a group header or footer will have at least one record band on the same page. It does not assure that an entire group will appear on the same page. The only way to guarantee that would be to start a new page for each group.____Kathleen__R&R Support

Is there any other way to control this feature then if R&R can not? i.e. via a UDF or some other formatting method? It would not be productive to be printing 6 lines per page to ensure each group does not run over a line.____Best regards____Bruce__

There is no R&R function that will return where you are on a page.____Kathleen__R&R Support

This is something I am waiting for since version 3 of R&R. I think it would be VERY useful to implement in a next version to assure that a whole header group is printed on a page. ^New page^ is just a waste of space, as in my case I use for each group between 6 and 14 lines, and appearance would be much more professional if I could force a page break if the whole header group could not fit on the rest of the page.____Claude____N.B. This would be for me a reason to buy the next release.____
