Windows 2000

Post by Rick_Anderson_(Guest) » Mon May 21, 2001 3:14 pm

Read some posts here that made me think clients with Windows 2000 can expect some problems with reports I construct in RR. ____If yes, do we know that liveware is working on the problem as a high priority? Is the problem for 8.0, 8.1, 9.0? Any time frame for getting a fix? ____Thanks,__Rick

From my experience your assessment is correct. The Windows 2K printing issue(s) ahould be the highest priority for Liveware!__

We do have an updated RRPD.DLL file that corrects some not all printing problems.__The problem with the unsolved issues is that they seem to defy our ability to reproduce them in house. Step 1 to doing a fix is generally to be able to see the problem using a debug version so that we can track the problem as it is happening.______Kathleen__R&R Support

As a developer, I hear you. If it is that hard to reproduce, sounds like the problem is not that frequent, which is good news.____That new .DLL you mentioned, is that for 8.x and 9? Is it available for download?____Thanks,__Rick

Well Kathleen, you must think we must enjoy troubleshooting... I mean lets just keep your little fixes to yourself... hmmm... did we not purchase your software... don^t you think it would be prudent to put your CORRECTED DLL^s where we might all have access to them... is it that difficult to put updated version of your DLL^s in the download area?? ____My Win2K clients are having problems that I have not been able to determine why? Do you think you might send me a copy of the DLL^s?____-Bob__bpowell@rsi-ketchum.com

We are in the process of creating a V9 update release that will be posted on the web site.__The reason that we are closing managing the distribution of the new DLL is that we want to track the circumstances where it does/does not work so that we can have a reasonable level of confidence in its behavior before we post it as a truly corrected version.______Kathleen__R&R Support

Yes, please e-mail me a copy of the dll file--I^am still having printing problems with Windows 2K. I would like to check to see if the addition of this file clears up any R&R & WIN 2K glitches__Thanks__Allen_hochstetler@doh.state.fl.us__
