character data in .txt export file

Post by rlake » Wed Nov 20, 2002 3:51 pm

When I export a Text Data File with a character separated value (the character being *) using R&R 6.5.08, the character fields are created with double-quotes " " around them. Numeric fields are created okay. I then have to read the file into Word to remove the "". e.g., *"32608"*18*"127"*"ABC"*15000* Is there a way to get a char separated file without the double-quotes?:)

Any character field that begins with a numeric gets quoted.__Not a way around this.____Kathleen__R&R Support

Is this true just in 6.5.08 or in later versions of R&R as well?
