Calculated fields and Runtime

Post by Eddie_Marshall » Mon Mar 14, 2005 12:54 pm

We have come across a problem when running reports that have Calculated fields utilising User Defined Functions. The message is that the Calculated Field must be edited. The machines were are experiencing the problem have only had an R&R Version 10 Workstation Installation run on them. If you install a full version of R&R on the machine^s C drive the problem goes away. The Runtime is also Version 10. There is an RR.UDF file containg the appropriate UDF^s in the application directory where the RRWRUN.EXE is also loacted.____This is something that seems to have started happening since we got new PC^s installed with Windows XP SP2.____Do you have any thoughts on what may be causing this?____Thanks.____Eddie Marshall__Technical Support Manager__LandMaster

It is sounding as if the runtime executable cannot find the UDF file.__What happens if they double click execute RRWRUN.EXE from the network and then select the report that contains the UDF. If it works then something is indeed causing the UDF not to be found when the report is launched from the application. How is that being done currently? Are you directly calling the runtime executable?____Kathleen__R&R Support

The infuriating thing is that I now can^t recreate this problem.! But I reckon that specifying a path to execute RRWRUN.EXE will help.____Thanks again.____Eddie
