I recently purchased a laptop with XP and I installed V 9.009 on it along with the pdfdist.zip files. Now when I run a normal type report, the report views and or prints fine. When I exit the report, I get the same old error message that windows is closing R&R because of an illigal operation.____If I create a PDF file, I get the error "Can not match Printer or Port to Control file" This is a single running machine, so I have all rights.____I changed the compatibility to Window 98 with the same error.____What am I doing wrong? What do I need to do?______Thanks

Kathleen,____I just tried to run the report through R&R directly and noticed that when I select print the R&R Report Writer did not show up in the selection. This is causing the report to be saved in my LaserJect III format and not PDF.____What can I do to make the R&R Report Writer show up in the printer control screen from within R&R. I would assume that this is why I am getting the error about the printer no matching the control file.______Thanks

Yes, I have all the required files that you sent me in the pdfdist.zip. ____Just to be on the safe side, I downloaded the pdfdist.zip file on your website. I tried doing the reports again. The reports worked fine, but I received the error message the windows is closing the program.____I then tried running a report through a program I developed that creates a pdf file, (The report is saved with the printer selection as "R&R Export" and works great in Windows98. The report was saved on disk, but I believe as a LaserJet III file, since it will not open in the pdf reader and it is 18 mb instead of the 446K that it is on Windows98.____I then went into the report writer directly and called the report up. The printer selection has "R&R Export" and it prints to a proper PDF file. After it saved the file, I then receive the same error message that Windows is closing the program.____If I delete the CDINTF.DLL, it works as it should, except I can not produce a PDF report.____I would obviously like to be able to print to pdf files, so any help would be greatly appreciated.____Thanks... Kathleen,____Windows XP Home Edition and R&R Version 9.0.009____I just tried to run the pdf file that I created in the R&R Report Generator and received an error. From the report generator, I selected "File", "Printer" and from the print screen the printer name was "R&R PDF Export". While this produced a report in the proper size, it apperently was not saved in the proper format for some reason. The error message I receive when I try to run the pdf in Acrobat Reader 5.5 is, "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired".____Again, when I run this report directly from the R&R Report generator, as stated above, the report seems to work as it should. After the report saves the file to the pdf file, I then get the error message that Windows is closing the program, and I am kicked out of R&R.____Tom Freitas
