I am getting the following using rrwrun: ____Cannot write to temporary input file____on a cusotmers system. It just started happening when the report was working previously. Is is an NT 4.0 workstation and I have verified that it is not a file handle issue. I have checked the user rights and I can create files on the network driver were the report is running. ____What are the possible causes of this error? I am guessing it might be trying to create a temporary sort file and failing, but where would it create this?____pleae advise,__pete

If it were a sort file I would expect that the error would say sort file.__What happens if you run rrwrun.exe from explorer and then select this report?______Kathleen__R&R Support

I am having a problem when running a report using TERMINAL SERVER "cannot create sort temporary file". __Is it possible to have a unique sort file for each user? __Can I define an RRW.INI for each user where the sort file is created?

R&R takes care of creating unique sort temp file names.__Files will be written to the windows TEMP directory. There is not a way to change this default location other than revising the TEMP variable in Windows itself.____Kathleen__R&R Support

Then I think my problem is related to the resources being maxed out when previewing a report using 2000 terminal server. Can you tell me if anything is being done about this problem.____Thank you.

Does the problem only occur when you are previewing a report and never when you are printing directly to the printer?____Kathleen__R&R Support

I was able to fix the Temporary Sort File problem by going into the Terminal Server as an administrator, then into properties on the MY Computer icon. Select the Advance Tab, then into environment variables. I just copied the path of the User variable for the TEMP and placed it in the System Variable TEMP. The System Variable TEMP default is c:winnt emp by changing it to %USERPROFILE%Local SettingsTemp fixed this problem.____The resource issue when print previewing seems to be a problem I will try to let you know if I find out any more details.
