very SLOW field list

Running on a win 2012 server. It had been working okay. Suddenly the fields list dropdown takes *minutes" to populate and display.____Has anyone else seen this? Any work-around? Needless to say, it sucks.

It could be that you inadvertently elected to "Sort Field Names" and depending on the number of fields in your report could be taking a long time.____To check, click on the main menu, select "Options" / "Preferences" and then click on the "Field Lists" tab.____Make sure the "Sort Field Names" checkbox is cleared.
