Cannot open memo file

I am trying to export data from a vendor^s software to merge with our data for a report. Their software has an export feature to export to dbf file (Xbase). I can open this with Excel and it looks no different than any other dbf I have opened with Excel. But when I open the file with R&R reports it gives the message Cannot open memo file. What is this memo file? I can^t see a memo file for any other dbf file I use. Thank You

The header of the file must indicate that the file contains a memo field. What you can do to workaround the problem is from the SAMPLE folder in the R&R install directory, copy the file RRPRICES.FPT and to the folder where your DBF file lives. Then rename RRPRICES.FPT to the same name as your DBF and make the file extension .FPT. If that does not help, rename the file extension to .DBT. This should allow R&R to open the DBF file.____Kathleen__R&R Support
