Circular Calculations

I continue to find strange differences in the way R&R for SQL behaves in comparison to R&R Xbase. In this case I am finding that in some cases I am unable to perform calculations that contain totals fields and the total fields are not totals of the calculated field. As far as I can see the totals fields were constructed exactly the same way as in Xbase. I have never encountered this error message in R&R XBase.____Simon Bray.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON Jul-19-02 AT 07:20 AM (EST)]Which version of R&R? If V9, did you download the 9.0.009 update?____SQL does differ from Xbase in the available total accumulation frequency settings but apart from that, the basic rules of operation should be the same.____Kathleen__R&R Support

Sorry should had said - yes 9.009.____Even if I create a new calculation called anything which is simply equal to the total field I get the circular reference error. ____I am baffled.____Simon Bray.

What ever happened with this issue? I^m using R&R 9 w/ the patch and am getting this error. The weird part is that the documentation says nothing about what to do to fix the problem -- and that the field mentioned in the error does not match the field that I^m working with.____
