Conditional Band Lines

I^m working with R&R for Windows Ver 11 Build 11.0.006____I^m having a problem with conditional band lines. There appears to be an issue with adjacent band lines which use the same calculation for conditional printing. I have a situation where I need to have one line print when a condition is "True" and an adjacent line print when it is "False". Each time I try to change a value in one line R&R also changes the value in the other. I have used conditional formatting for years and have never had this issue before. In fact, the report which I^m currently trying to correct is based upon another report where this works fine. If, however, you view the conditions in the report that is working, it too shows the same value for these adjacent conditional lines. Somehow, in disagreement with what it displays, the original report still works properly.____Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Upon further investigation, the problem is much worse than I initially indicated. It has nothing to do with adjacent band lines, it actually affects ALL conditional band lines. If I select "True" for a condition in one line, all are conditions in all lines are set to "True". If I change the value to "False", all are changed to "False".

I just tried this and was not able to reproduce what you are seeing. I may not have a good test case though so if you can send me a report that shows the problem, I will have a look.____Regards,__Kathleen__R&R Support__livesupport@livewarepub.com

Kathleen, ____Did you get a chance to look at the file? I sent it on Thursday (02/22/07).

You are correct that there is a problem.____When you edit a band line condition, R&R does not default to the radio button that was previously used for that band line. Instead it defaults to the last selected band line. So when you edit a band line, you need to be sure that the radio button matches the selection that you really want. If the button shows the wrong value, you need to manually change it to the value that you want. Once you make the change, it will indeed apply.____Note that the current selected condition does display on the status bar at the bottom of the window.____We will fix this one.____Kathleen__R&R Support____

Thanks! I can work with that. I didn^t realize that the selected condition was displayed in the status bar.____Due to a change in fundamental structure, the report that I had sent to you had to be altered from multiple "Record" conditional band lines to multiple "Group Footer" conditional band lines. I simply did a cut and paste and all of the formating was maintained. The conditions, however, were all reset to "True" regardless of their previous value. When the conditions were viewed in the status bar they all showed "True". Those that were supposed to be false, however, actually still showed "False" on the radio button when I went in to edit. After the edit, the status bar retained the incorrect value until a different band line was selected and then the original was reselected. Only then did the radio button and status bar agree. Whewww! How confusing is that?____Kathleen, you are always very helpful. Thanks again!____Spencer
