If you open two instances of the Report Designer on your desktop you should be able to do this.____Kathleen__R&R Support

I opened two instances of the report designer, but could not copy objects from one report to another. Copy menu option is disabled on the target report. The XP Clipboard is not capturing the text? I wonder if there is a compatibility problem with XP? Using copy/paste is standard windows functionality.

It won^t work if the text string object is selected. But if I F2 the text then select and copy, it works fine. Calculated objects behave the same, I can^t click on the object and copy it to another report, I have to edit it and copy the expression to the target report. I know, this sounds a little "nit-picky."____Derran__

copy/paste of "objects" has never worked in RR__ - but copy/paste of string expressions does work.__ it has nothing to do with XP - RR only works with strings at the expression level - not object (with their associated properties, etc).____it would be nice to be able to copy/paste calc fields and total fields and complete band lines from one report to another - but RR is just not object oriented YET...____in addition - if you have strict license control - there might be a problem with opening the 2nd instance - as the license is already locked with the 1st instance running...__
