Duplicate field names and exporting to DBF file

Post by Scott_Ferguson_(Guest) » Mon May 14, 2001 10:45 am

Please see example layout:____TABLES: . FIELDS:__Provider . FName LName__Member . FName LName____Say the provider first and last name are on the far left of the report screen and the members first and last name are in the middle or far right of the screen. When there are duplicate field names from different tables, but selected on the same report and one exports the query results to a *.DBF file, only the first occurring fields starting from the far left (would be Provider FN and LN) will export. The member fields are not exported. The only work around that I know of is to rename the member fields by making calculated fields "MbrFName" and "MbrLName" and place the corresponding FName and LName from the Members table into them. Is this an opportunity that can be explored and corrected?__

Your workaround is indeed the suggested way to avoid this problem.____Kathleen__R&R Support
