Table Parameter in UDF^s

Self-referencing calculated fields (recursive fields) are among the most difficult for our user^s to create. I thought about building a UDF so they could just "plug" in values. However, all of ours start out SCANNING(FILENAME). ____I^d like to have that be the first argument, but couldn^t get it to accept a variable for the filename.
