2GB file size limitation

What is planned for addressing the file size limitation of R&R related to dbf files size limitation. Advantage database server, in the dbf format, has handled 4GB files for some time and version 8 expands that to 8 GB. ____Currently only 2GB files are supported. It would be nice to handle the larger file size limit as the 2GB limit is archaeic.____Cliff

Along that same line, the ADS ODBC connector won^t work with R&R SQL. Not sure why, but I understand that this has been an outstanding issue for some years now.

Having used R&R with xBase tables for 17 years or so, and with Advantage in the xBase edition for about 10 years, I am disappointed to find that on trying to use R&R SQL with the Advantage ODBC driver R&R crashes. Then I learn through this forum that this has been an issue "for some years". In version 8 Advantage implements views and stored procedures through SQL scripts. I could hardly wait to create some nice views in Advantage and then read them with R&R so saving lots of table joining within R&R, but R&R crashes just after selecting the Advantage-driven ODBC data source. ____Are there plans to make R&R and Advantage ODBC work together? I hope so because I don^t want to have to change to Crystal.____Best wishes to all,____Noel
