Change in DB Name

Post by Chris_Ransom_(Guest) » Thu May 04, 2006 8:09 am

We have just upgraded our main database and it have changed from Progress to Progress4. However now all our R&R reports complain when opened, first they suggest opening another data source, then they ask for all the tables used to be reselected. Once we have done all this and save the report it is all OK. But we seem to have to go through this for every report. Is there a way around this?

The only way is to indeed open and save each report, re-selecting the tables.____Kathleen__R&R Support

What a pain! Is there a reason for this and is it fixable so we don^t need to go through the process again in the future if anything similar happens?

Hi,____Is there anything I can do to stop this happening again in the future? I always have this problem if the DB Name changes but surely if I^m using ODBC that should take care of things?

You can add a setting to RSW.INI that might help. Add a section name to the file called DATABASE (you would surround this in square brackets (I cannot do this here since the forum software treats these as reserved characters)) and then add a line that says:____USEDEFAULTDATABASE=1____and see if this helps. This tells R&R to use the database that is set in the ODBC datasource rather than the one that is saved with the report.____Kathleen__R&R Support
