Export to RTF-no recs-Odd results

Post by Martha » Fri Jun 15, 2007 12:46 am

I^m using RSWRUN.EXE with output to a RTF file. If no records are found, and I am NOT suppressing the header and footer, it creates an RTF with contents similiar to this (only first few lines included here):____pardplainsl-240 fs16 par__pardplainsl-204 x720 qr x7344 __f6 fs18 cf0 ab Totals ab 0par____or contents similiar to this (when I viewed on screen, then printed):_____%-12345X@PJL JOB NAME="C:REPORTSSEND DESTINATIONS TEMPLATE - HSTP.RSW"__@PJL COMMENT "2200 Series (PCL 6)Version 4.2.1.0 Dev. Vers. (Win2k)"__@PJL COMMENT "Username: J005"____I found that if I do suppress the header & footer, then it simply doesn^t write the file at all. Also, Word, the default RTF application, doesn^t recognize the file as an RTF, and brings up a file conversion screen when trying to open it.____What is going on here, and how can it be fixed?____Thank you..

I just tried a no records found report in RR12 that has a title and summary band with just text in it.__When I export it using RI_PRINTER=RTF I can open it in Word 2003.____The title band text appears in the page header and the summary band text appears as the first line on the page.____What version of R&R and Word are you using?____Kathleen__R&R Support

Huh? Apparently there is one reply to this already, but I do not see any replies. Is there something special I need to do to see it, or does this just mean that someone replied and then deleted it?____I can view replies to questions posed by others just fine.

Apparently your reply was "in process" when I tried to view it.____I am using R&R SQL version 8.1 and Word 2003.
