Windows XP Problems and Solutions

Post by Jeff_Fried_(Guest) » Sat Jul 20, 2002 12:10 pm

After much frustration dealing with idiosyncracies of R&R v. 8 or 9 when running under Windows XP (Pro or Home), and not receiving any satisfaction from Liveware, I believe I discovered what needs to be done to cure the problem.____Simply use compatibility mode for R&R, using the Windows 98/ME compatibility setting. I only tried it with the Windows 98/ME setting, although Windows 2000 compatibilitiy mode may also work. Hope this helps any of you who have struggled with this.

What problems did this solution cure?____I know that R&R V9 will crash on exit in XP if a user does not have sufficient permissions to install a printer and then some printers also can cause problems.____Kathleen__R&R Support

Delayed loading. Sometimes not loading on the first double-click. Sluggish performance. Other anomolies. Has not occurred yet with compatibility mode enabled, on the same computer where it was routinely giving these problems.

Where is this setting? I have similiar problems. The setting for the correct printer paper tray does store with the reports.
