Somewhat solution to XP and PDF

After re-reading the message from Mel Smith, I tried what he said, only with my compiled programs executable. The damn thing worked! In Mel^s message, he was working with a batch file, (.BAT), in DOS. So I went to my compiled executable in Windows Explorer, selected properties and made the file Win98 compatable. I then ran a report from my program making the report save as a pdf. When I ran the created pdf file, it came up.____I can work around this as it only solves part of the problem. There is still an issue of creating a PDF file from within the R&R Report Generator screen on some XP machine, but not all. ____There is a conflict somewhere on some of the XP machines that is not allowing the pdf files to be created properly. This conflict can be in hardware or software. Since customer support can not replicate the problem, they can not fix it. (It works for them on their machines so there is no problem). I really can not blame them since it is extremly hard to fix a problem that you can not see or re-create. However, they should note that there is a problem and keep an eye open for a solution.____The machine I am using, and have problems with, is a Vaio Laptop with 512 mb RAM and using a LaserJet III printer.____I might note here that if I go to the DOS level and type RRWRUN report.RRW, I receive an error message of "Insufficent memory for print/preview". You seem to get a more direct answer from DOS for some reason. I would think that the conflict is somewhere within this error message.__

The R&R Report Generator is now working. All I did was make the rrwrun.exe Win98 compatible. It now works just fine.____If you create an executable program for distribution, you should always make the exe file Win98 compatible. If you are having problems creating pdf files, then make the rrwrun.exe in the R&R Version 9 directory Win98 compatible.____I must emphasize that if you make an application that is distributed, you should always make the exe Win98 compatible, since you do not know what customers might have a machine that will not create the pdf and give them that damn error message.____Mel Smith deserves the credit for this, I just went a little further..__
