Rapid Runner and Non-print Chars
Rapid Runner and Non-print Chars
We are running R&R Ver 8.1.023 and Rapid Runner Ver1.1.0005 all for Xbase.____We are having a problem with non-printable characters in an index. The problem is that many, if not most, of the related records are not returned. We have made the R&R modifications, and the report works properly when we preview it in R&R. When we call that report in Rapid Runner and preview it, the problem comes back. Does Rapid Runner change the relationships in any way?____Here^s another brain buster: The problem occurs only on Windows 98 computers. I^m the only person in the office with Windows XP, and the problem does not occur on when I preview the report. We are using the same set, which is stored on the server.____This is a new problem to us, but it is a big one. We are using TeleMagic V5 for our contact manager and we took advantage of the multiple level structure, but since it uses this character expression that contains non-printable characters, we have to overcome this problem to fully use the new system. We currently rely very heavily on Rapid Runner for our production reporting.____Thanks in advance for all of your help!____Carrie Crain__Crain Consulting & Design__Carrie Crain__Crain Consulting & Design

If you edited your RRW.INI to support the non printable characters, make sure that the edited RRW.INI is available on the machine where you are running Rapid Runner.____Kathleen__R&R Support

Yes, I have added the SoftenDBFields=0 to the [DEFAULTS] section of the RRW.INI. I have also changed the RRW.SRT by removing hte semicolons before DBCHARS=ANSI and SRTCHARS=ANSI.____Are there any other modifications that need to be made?____Carrie Crain__Crain Consulting & Design
