merging pdf files

Post by Nick » Sat Apr 26, 2003 9:04 am

i have RR reports going to separate PDF files and would like to make a single PDF file from them. I know you can manually do it if you have the non-free adobe reader - one page insert at a time. ____Does anyone know how to automate that process?____specifically - i have over 20 PDF files (one page from each RR reports from DIFFERENT data sources) and would like to make a "executive reports book" PDF file. ____Can this be done in a scripting language?____it would be nice if the PDF print driver gave you the choice of OVERWRITE or APPEND when you create the PDF file - in that case i would use APPEND on all except the first PDF file.____thanks,__nick

I am reasonably sure that there is an Adobe API that will allow you to do this. Do a web search and I bet you will come up with something.______Kathleen__R&R Support

Do you have a tool which allows us to bring a pdf into R&R and then fill in data as it prints?

ok - i^ll check it out - __but unfortunately my primary customer has already purchased adobe acrobat (the full product - not just the reader) and will not let me install another PDF printer on their LAN.____you would think that the adobe folks would support "automation" of PDF MERGING.. even if i need to write some VBA code...____nick__
