Unicode or ASCII Currency Symbols
Unicode or ASCII Currency Symbols
I have been using v 8.1 for some time, and have a nagging problem that I would like to fix. Although I have used Unicode currency symbols (from Windows Character Map) for the UK Pound (£) and the Euro (_) within text fields in my database, R&R continually prints the £ as ú and the _ as ç (but capitalized).____I have tries to change fonts in the report field that contains these symbols, but this makes no difference.____Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can make these currency symbols print properly?

Edit the file RRW.SRT that is in the R&R program directory and remove the semicolon from the line:__;DBCHARS=ANSI______This should resolve things for you.____Kathleen__R&R Support

Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn^t work. The reports still print with the incorrect characters.____Do you have any other suggestions?____Thanks,__Drew

Are you using the SQL version?____Kathleen__R&R Support
====> RE: Unicode Currency Symbols
No. I am using the xbase edition.

Change the RRW.SRT and make the line say:____DBCHARS=ANSIxxx____And see if you get an error when you open the designer.____If yes, edit the file again and take away the xxx and try the report again.____Kathleen__R&R Support

I made the change to the RRW.SRT file by adding "xxx" to the DBCHARS=ANSI line. I did receive an error message when I opened the designer, so as instructed, I removed the "xxx" from this line and tried it again. Unfortunately, the reports are still printing the way they did before.____Drew
