Printing Speed

Post by jstiegler » Mon Feb 28, 2005 4:04 pm

When our application uses the PDF driver the performance suffers greatly. When we add the line: PDFDRIVER=0 to RRW.ini the performance returns but we can select the PDF Driver from our printer list.____Is this an either or situation or is there a third option that will give us great performance and the ability to create PDF files?

Hi Jeff,____We install the PDF printer driver manually on each station that needs to export PDF, using the install.exe on the R&R CD. Then we simply specify this driver by name when printing PDF.____This offers much better performance as the driver does not need adding / removing each time the runtime is called.____Hope this helps,______Mike__

[updated:LAST EDITED ON Mar-01-05 AT 03:49 PM (EST)]Hey Mike!____You are a genius!____That worked.____We are a small software developer and now I have to figure out how to get InstallShield to do this manual installation of the R&R PDF driver for our customers. Oh, well .. on to the next challenge.____Thanks again.__
