Default Printer

Post by Firas_Yono_(Guest) » Wed Aug 03, 2005 8:57 am

We are using R&R Report Works v11.0.006 on a Windows 2000 Terminal Server. We have the ^Printer=Default^ in the Defaults section of the rrw.ini file, however, when users that are logged on to the Terminal Server try to print, more often than not, the report does not print at their default printer, rather, it printes to the default printer that was set on the terminal server at the time report was create or re-saved. TIA for your assistance.

Are they using runtime or the designer? Is the RRW.INI located in the same directory as R&R?____Kathleen__R&R Support

The reports are designed in the designer, but are called to run from a 3rd party app. The rrw.ini file is in the C:Winnt directory of the terminal server, and it copies itself to the "C:Documents and SettingsusernameWINDOWS" folder. I have tried to copy it to C:Program FilesReportWorks with no success.

The printer setting in the INI is only for the designer not runtime.__For runtime you would need to set RI_WPTR=DEFAULT in the runtime control table.____Kathleen__R&R Support

Thank you. Forgive my greenness with R&R - Can you tell me where this table is located and what it is called?

You would have to get this information from the 3rd party application vendor to determine the name and location of the control file.____Kathleen__R&R Support
