Printer setting with R&R 9 ?
Hi,____We are reselling R&R to the German market. I^m trying to help a customer who just bought the upgrade to v.9. In his existing reports he used to just set up the Windows Standard Printer. `Then every user got his report printed on his printer. The users are starting the report like follows: "start /w rrwrun report.rrw".____Now after upgrading to version 9 he did a few changes in some reports and saved them again. While his old reports still work as before specifically these reports now print only to the one Windows Standard Printer of the specific user who did save them, regardless of which user runs them. ____So all the other users have to come to his office, which already created a lot of confusion in the company during the past weeks.____What can they do to set upt the reports as before, so that every user is getting his report on his Windows Standard Printer ?____Any help welcome.____Helmut Knappe__dc soft GmbH____

When a report is opened in Version 9 or below, R&R will attempt to find/use the printer that is saved with the report. If the printer cannot be found, then it will default to the user^s default printer.__In Version 10 , we are adding a setting that will allow you to force a saved report to use a particular printer.____One thing that your users can do is to use RRWRUN.EXE in place of RRW.EXE and to set up a runtime control file.____So you would create a text file (called myreport.txt for this example)__with the lines:__RI_REPORT=REPORT.RRW__RI_WPTR=DEFAULT____then you would use the command line:__RRWRUN.EXE /Tmyreport.txt____and the report.rrw would be run using the user^s default printer.________Kathleen__R&R Support

I have RR 8.0 and have a problem with the default printer setting. The printer most people have been using is now dead. They can print using File, Print and choose the printer, but the default printer with Windows NT 4.0 workstation SP6, seems to be ignored as the default printer - all reports are qeueing to this dead printer when thay hit the print button in R&R. Is there a setting in an ini file or the like to force the default printer for each user to be used?

R&R will default to the printer saved with the report. So if you re-select it once and save the report with the desired printer, the next time it is opened, it will use the default.__Kathleen__R&R Support
