R&R-Printer Error

Hi ,____Iam using R&R Report Writer version 6.0 .This is used to print some reports from DBF files .____I face some problems when i use a postscript printer .R&R Report writer does not print when we use a postscript printer .____Is this due to version problems ?How can this be solved ?

Iam a novice using this R &R .So iam not sure if this is a DOS version .____I interface the R&R from a VC++ application .From the VC++ application i call the functions of the R &R dll( like to set the printer,to ste the filter ,master table etc ) ,which in turn calls the RRwRun.exe .____RRWRun.exe ,when run independently in WIndows environment prompts with a window for selecting the rp5 files .____Now when the machine is attached to a postscript printer ,R&R fails to print .____Thank You .Have a nice year ahead .____

Request you to look if R&R report writer XBase 6.5 ( Windows Version ) has problems with post script printer .We MAY CONSIDER process of upgrading the R&R for aLL OUR CENTERS ,in case version is the problem .

Version 6.5 is an older 16 bit release of R&R so unless you are running a 16 bit O/S there is no guarantee that things will work correctly.____Kathleen__R&R Support

Thank You .____Which version of R&R supports the Post Script printer ?__Is there Trial version of it so that we can actually test the newer version of R&R with our application ?__

Thanks a lot for the information .I have few more querries before we try out R&R V 10 .____1.Currently our VC++ application interfaces with the report writer through the interfaces in RrRpt32.dll .If we upgrade to R&R v 10 ,can we maintain the same interfaces ?____2.R&R v 6.5 does not allow to save the report generated,only it allow sto view teh report and print it .Does R&R V10 have a provision save the report in standard format like PDF ?____Thank You and Have a nice day ! __

Forgot to add more point .__The report genartor is a RP5 file .I guess this should be a windows version then .____Thank you .

Version 10 does support the runtime DLL and will allow you to output reports to PDF format.____Kathleen__R&R Support
