Received error in install

Post by Thomas_Freitas_(Guest) » Thu Jun 19, 2003 5:53 pm

The installation appears to have worked and everything is functioning as it should. However, during the installation of StepUp Version 10+ I received the following error:____"String vairable is no large enough for string. Check the string declaration. Error 401"____This was during the Copying ODBC files while the installation was 87% complete. In the setup I select All ODBC^s, I then went back one step and then continued forward again with all ODBC^s selected.____My computer is running XP Pro with 512 mb RAM____I do not know if this might cause me a problem in the future or not, but I thought that I had better report it to you anyway. ____I am going to re-install the program again and hopefully will not receive the error. If I do, I will add a note under this one to let you know.______Thanks... Tom

At 81% I received the same error message. I assume that one or more of the ODBC^s are causing the problem.____Tom...

If you only select a few drivers or do them one at a time the error will not occur.____Kathleen__R&R Support

in the re-install I select 5 drivers and received the error. I then re-installed again and selected on two drivers, the first one and MS dBase and it worked fine. Of course the problem is, I do not know which drivers did not install or why. If the selection for all is there, then the selection for all should work, Yes?______Tom

The problem is indeed a bug. We corrected it in time for the regular 10+ install but the step up CD^s went out with the bug still present.____Kathleen__R&R Support
