rsw.exe has generated errors

Post by jgould4857 » Wed Jun 16, 2004 4:14 pm

We are having the same problem with this error message as a number of other forum users. ____The CDINTF.DLL file has been deleted off of all PCs running RRW and RSW. We are running R&R 10.1.003 on PCs w/ Windows 2000 service pack 4. ____It was mentioned that this file (CDINTF.DLL) is the main cause of the "rsw.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows." message. What are some other causes?____Where are the error logs? ____

The error log is the generic windows application error log and may not be that helpful in determining the cause of the error.__Do you see the problem with some or all reports?____What happens if you double click the runtime executable in explorer and then manually select the report?____Kathleen__R&R Support____

This problem only happens on a few SQL reports, but reports that freeze tend to always freeze. Also, there doesn^t seem to be any consistency to the problem. Two reports feeding from the same SQL tables with the same links and filters, but displaying different elements will react differently. One report will error out while the other will run perfectly. I changed the problem report to reflect the same elements as the clean report and it still errored out.____Please help.

Kathleen, __Sorry, I forgot to respond to your second question. On two separate occasions (w/ 2 different reports), I did try firing up the problem reports through runtime and experienced the same error. I also tried scheduling them through Rapid Runner - same error.____Good suggestion though. Any other ideas?
