Can^t align fields with snap to grid

I have just upgraded to 8.1 XBASE. Snap to grid only seems to work on vertical spacing. No matter what my horizontal ruler is, I can drag my fields and leave them anywhere. I have a whole bunch that need to be lined up and this is not working? Is this a bug of some sort?

It is something of a bug when moving items to the left, but it works to the right. It was corrected in Build 26 (available on the web site) and also in V9.0, which we think -- pretty please -- would be a better option.
