Closing RR causes XP error
Closing RR causes XP error
Kathleen,____I am using Windows XP Pro.__I installed RR version 9, with the CD I received from Liveware.__To be sure I have the latest version, I downloaded the patch to 9.009 version from Liveware webpage and saved the files in the RR directory (c:program files
&rreport ).__Then I downloaded the file pdfdist.zip (to generate pdf files), again from Liveware webpage, and saved the files in in the RR directory (c:program files
&rreport ).__After calling rrwrun or the report designer, I can see the report, make any changes to its layout, but when I close it I receive a message from XP saying that RR have to be closed because it performed an error.__Reading the messages in this forum, I rename the file cdintf.dll to cdintf.old (from rr directory) and the error message stoped. But this file is needed to export reports to pdf files, isn^t it? __What do I have to do to correct this error and still be able to generate pdf files?____Thank you.____

Check to see if you have the cdintf.dll file anywhere else on you system. There might be a conflict that is causing this. I solved the problem on my system by putting the cdintf.dll in c:windowssystem32 directory and deleting it everywhere else, including in the rrw9 directory.____My XP is working fine now, but if I put a copy of the CDINTF.DLL in the directory of a program I have or in the RRW9 directory, I get the same error. ____I have no idea why this happens to only some XP machines and not others. Until support can replicate this problem, they will not be able to find a solution.
