Conversion of .dbf to .mdb
Conversion of .dbf to .mdb
I have posted another question, but would like to reword it a little clearer.!!!, missed the 60 minutes deadline to alter the original question.____I have purchased r&r Report Works.____I was using r&r in conjuction with clipper programs, which used .dbf files as the master tables.__I now intend to convert all the old clipper programs to run under access 2000.____I have imported the .dbf files into an access 2000 file .mdb, and these old .dbf tables are now access 2000 normal tables., all the field names are exactly the same names as used in the .rp1 reports.__all the data is there.____I do not seem to be able to work out how to get these .rp1 files converted in order to use them in the new access 2000 .mdb program.__I have tried converting from .rp1 to .rp6 etc...!!!!__When i go into r&R SQL and implement any conversion , it seems to be looking for .rrw files., not .rp6.____Would appreciate some advice as to how to implement this conversion., i have run out of ideas.______
=> RE: Conversion of .dbf to .mdb
When you convert from RP1 to RP6 you will be prompted to select a data source and then the reports will be converted. You should then be able to open the SQL Report Designer (RSW.EXE) and select the RP6 library.__However you might want to take the additional step in the converter of exploding the RP6 library to individual RSW files.____The SQL version will read the RP6 but when you make changes/save the report it will need to be to an RSW file rather than back to the RP6.____Kathleen__R&R Support
