okidata fonts problem

Post by Jeannie » Wed Aug 30, 2006 9:50 am

With runtime Okidata 420 is defaulting to Arial, not recognizing font Utility 15cpi. It works fine when run from the designer. This is on the same station in both cases.____User noticed that if he changes windows default printer to Oki, the runtime printing works. If the default printer is a laser, it does not work - arial is printed. ____version is 12.____help :) -jeannie______

Are you setting a value in RI_WPTR to point to the OKI printer?____Kathleen__R&R Support

no. ? is used. User chooses Oki from the list.____This was "resolved" by removing the ?, thus having the report print with the printer saved with the report.____But, this is not a very good workaround, because there could be more than one of the same Oki printer on a network. ____Is this a known bug?____-jeannie____

If the font you are using is a printer native font, then the report would have to be saved to that printer in order to use the font anyway, wouldn^t it?____Kathleen__R&R Support

BUT, if there are 3 okis on the network, when the user chooses one from the list via ?, the native fonts do NOT work. Or, if default printer is HP, user needs oki, when oki is chosen, native fonts do not work. Any time the windows list of printers is invoked, native fonts do not work.____IMHO, this is a bug. Am i missing something here?____-jeannie__
